What is Energy, Energy Healing, Energy Work?
What is Energy? Have you heard this term before? It is used quite often in Holistic Health/Alternative Medicine and in the New Age Movement. The term “energy” is an appealing concept because people today think in scientific terms of electricity, solar rays, nuclear power, and so on, which are invisible energies. The type of energy that New Age believers speak of is NOT the same. It must be understood that this New Age force or energy is a religious or spiritual belief and has nothing to do with the findings of science or the known forces of nature, or God’s creation. The term “Energy” is usually used as a substitute for spiritual power. They believe that energy/spiritual power is everywhere and IN everything, and everybody. These “energies” are rooted in ancient knowledge that stems from Eastern Mysticism over 5000 years old. The New Age often maintains that the older a theory is the more one should have faith in it.
Crystals, Stones, Gems, Amulets, or Talismans.
Crystals certainly are beautiful objects, for they were created by God. The New Jerusalem, will be constructed from crystal. Revelation 21:11, & 18-20 “It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. ” What a beautiful site that will be to see! He has also made the believer’s foundation in a beautiful manner as well, Isaiah 54:11 Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems, And lay your foundations with sapphires. 12 I will make your pinnacles of rubies, Your gates of crystal, And all your walls of precious stones.
Chakras and the Occult
The Hindu’s teach that there are seven main “energy” centers found in the body and they call these centers chakras. (I want to advise the reader, “energy” = “evil spirit”). The word chakra is derived from Sanskrit, meaning “wheel”, or “circle of life”. These alleged chakras are located along the spine and influence different nerve systems, organs and glands with their “energy”. They believe that there is an “energy” that is coiled in the base of the spine (root chakra) called the Kundalini Serpent Spirit. Their spiritual goal is to “awaken” and release this Kundalini in order to attain a greater “consciousness” or “enlightenment”. (In reality they are entering dark dimensions of the spiritual world that God never intended us to enter.) They believe through meditation, yoga, and visualization the “energy” can pass back up the spine until it reaches the top of the head (crown chakra), producing a mystical experience. They believe that as this Kundalini Spirit travels up the spine (it coils like a snake around the spine) and hits each chakra point, that particular chakra is essentially “opened”, “aligned”, “balanced” or “attuned”. As each chakra is “opened” more evil spirits are allowed to enter into a person. As a Christian I believe this to be from the occult and what the Bible calls a doctrine of demons. 1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.
